Dr. Yu Sun, MD

Dr. Sun graduated from Norman Bethune College of Medicine of Jilin University in 1996. He received intensive neurosurgical training in Beijing Tiantan Hospital after graduation. In 2013, He moved to the United States and started his Internal Medicine residency training in St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY. He became board certified in internal medicine in 2016 and started working as a hospitalist at Orange Regional Medical Center in upstate NY, managing inpatients with multiple complex medical conditions. Due to his passion for community health service, Dr. Sun joined AE & LY Medical Associates in March 2019. He speaks English and Mandarin.
Internal Medicine
Dr. Chen graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2011. He did his residency in Internal Medicine from Nassau University Medical Center in Nassau County, NY. After residency training, he became an Assistant Professor for Hofstra School of Medicine and a hospitalist for Huntington Hospital-Northwell Health System. Dr. Chen joined AE&LY Medical Associate in July 2019. Dr. Chen is Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 2016 and licensed to practice in NY. He speaks proficient English and is knowledgeable in Mandarin Chinese.
Senior Physician Assistant
Helen obtained her Master’s degree in Medicine from Tianjin Medical University in China in 1999, and then graduated as Valedictorian of the Physician Assistant program at Touro College. She later on completed the Post-professional Physician Assistant Master Program and the Advanced Certificate in nutrition program from SUNY at Stony Brook.
After graduation, Helen has practiced in the fields of Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Internal Medicine. She has been working in AE& LY Medical Associates since 2007. Helen is experienced in treating common medical problems in internal medicine such as hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, allergy, back pain, and upper or lower respiratory infection, also in treating common GI/Hepatology diseases such as; peptic ulcer, GERD, fatty liver and Hepatitis B.
Senior Physician Assistant
Ms. Kuo has lived in Queens, New York for over 30 years after arriving from Taiwan at the age of 3. She started building her work ethics and found her passion for helping people during high school when she was working part time in the emergency department as a medical clerk.
She stayed close to home for her family and attended Saint John’s University, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science as a Physician Assistant. She started her physician assistant career at NYU Medical Center in the Neurosurgery Department. She later received a great opportunity to work at Johns Hopkins Hospital in the Neurosurgery Department.
She returned home to New York due to family matters afterwards, and received more growing opportunities in the Internal Medicine and Cardiology private practice for several years. She has been working in Flushing, New York for many years to help the Chinese patient population receive quality medical care.
Ms. Kuo ultimately found the right fit for her career working at AE & LY Medical Associates since 2012. She received the opportunity to gain more clinical experience and knowledge from Dr. Alan Yao in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Dr. Ellen Liang in Internal Medicine and Women’s Health.
Physician Assistant
Michelle graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at the CUNY School of Medicine New York, NY. in 2017. She received her certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants in the same year. Michelle joined AE & LY Medical Associates in 2018. Michelle is proficient in English, Chinese, and Korean .
Physician Assistant
Lance Kortesoja graduated the Mercy College Physician Assistant Program and received his Master Degree in 2018. He practiced clinical rotation in multi Medical Center and doctor’s office. Exposed to fields of Psychiatry, Neurology, Surgery, Family Medicine Emergency, Medicine, Biomechanics and Kinesiology… Lance is a registered Physician Assistant.
